There are many names for the practice of Stillness. There are many styles of teaching, and many people that are attached to their own way. Meditation is one of the many practices that allow you to observe and quiet the racing, busy mind. Quieting the mind as in meditation can be done anywhere and at anytime. It does not require a special room, certain posture, special garments, or sounds. These may all have a place for some, however, we say the attachment to certain, special things, is not necessary.

The purpose of meditation is to quiet the mind and all its constant judgments, worries and tantrums, and open your inner door to what lies at the Truth. You Are that Truth.

If you make Stillness a practice, it can help you strengthen your spiritual muscles and assist you to gain an inner awareness that you never had before. However, relax your grip on having ANY goal or agenda in place. Even the idea that Stillness is something to be ‘practiced’ can fill your mind with strategies to obtain a certain outcome.

Stillness is not a thing, or an escape from a mind filled with anxiety, pain, guilt, or regret. It Is You. The Expansive, Still, Infinite You that you cover up. The key to True Stillness is to drop and release any need for a result or outcome. Agendas limit results. Breathe deep and observe what comes across the mind. Wait for the next thought. Watch the breath. Observe without judging. You will become receptive to the real knowing, like a flower turning towards the sun. Be willing to meet your Self. Within your breath is the Light and Love of the Universe. This connection lies right under your nose.

Each person makes choices on their own path to self-discovery. Many think this is a long process with much searching and obtaining special knowledge involved. We say go deeply into the Stillness and realize it only takes an instant to truly know Your Self. There is nothing to fear in this. Be free in the Infinite Peace that is You. And So It Is.
